By our real bride, Whitney:

What was the vision for your wedding?

I have always dreamed of an intimate fall wedding in the middle of the woods. It turned out better than I could have dreamed up! A lot of our vendors are very close to home for us. We got our perfect woodsy venue, and even better, our friends built it from the ground up! I fell in love with Lily Garland Flowers at the bridal festival, her work and attention to detail are amazing. My friend helped me find my hair and makeup artist, and she was so friendly and easy to work with, Muah LLC. Most of our vendors were either friends, or friends of friends. It was wonderful and such a low key and comfortable day from start to finish.

How did it go the day-of?

The day of was so laid back and relaxed, it was just what we had hoped for. Since our venue was connected to my friend's house, I got ready with my girls right in the living room of her home! Everything happened on site, and was easy-going and calm. We did a first look before the ceremony, and it was so nice, because we got our one-on-one time, and got to recite our personal vows with just us, before we said them again in front of our favorite people. We took most of our photos before the ceremony, so that we could just enjoy the entire reception with our guests. Everything was perfect, and even the little tiny details that went wrong didn't bother me, because it was just such an enjoyable day.

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

Don't overdo it on the day of! Seriously, delegate, delegate, delegate! I know that wedding planning can get really busy, chaotic, and stressful really quickly. That's just part of planning and making sure you cover all of your bases and create your perfect day. But, if you can get everything set in stone and in place before the day of, that way your day of can be spent just enjoying your people's company and truly just "being" in the moment on the day of - that will be so worth it! Delegate what needs to get done ON the day of to people you trust and know will get the job done without needing your help. If you have the flexibility to set up and get things in place the day before, do it! That way you know it is done, and you will be better set up to just sit back, relax, and enjoy every big and small moment of your most special day!
