Welcome back to the Ivory Bride Blog, where we share stories of our real brides' weddings! In today's post, our real bride details her wedding with a summer romantic theme that evolved from terracotta and nude colors to a classic palette mixed with blush and champagne. The bride selected vendors based on her photographer's recommendations and their alignment with her vision. As a photographer herself, she focused on small details, DIYing table menus, welcome signs, wedding programs, and camera wraps for disposable cameras placed on each table.

On the wedding day, despite deviations from the planned timeline, the experience was enriched by the presence of loved ones. The couple opted for private vows and first looks with their parents, adding intimacy to the ceremony. The guest book was a collection of Polaroids from the photo booth with personal notes from guests, which the bride adored. She also created a newspaper-style wedding program featuring the wedding party, timeline, and tributes to loved ones who had passed. A private last dance before the sparkler exit provided a perfect end to the celebration.

The bride's top tip for future brides is to hire a day-of coordinator to ensure smoother execution, something she regretted not doing.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Summer romantic! At first, my Pinterest board was full of terracotta orange and nudes but we changed our minds about 4 months into planning! We wanted classic mixed with blush/champagne and it was perfect! I chose my vendors based on who my photographer recommended and what I felt fit our vibe. Everything turned out perfectly! As a photographer myself, I knew I needed to focus on the little details if I wanted my vision to come to life! And it sure did! I DIYed our table menus, welcome signs, wedding programs, and even the camera wraps for the disposable cameras that we set on every table for guests to take photos!

How did it go the day-of?

Not as planned of course, but when you’re living in the moment, you aren’t thinking about your wedding day timeline. Being there with all of your loved ones celebrating your love is more important than the timeline. We decided to do private vows instead of a first look, but we both did a first look with our parents! This made our day so intimate and even more special when I walked down the aisle! We also had our guest book be at the Photo Booth! Our entire guestbook turned out to be a bunch of Polaroids of our family with cute little notes and I’m obsessed with it! I also took the time to DIY my wedding programs! We did a newspaper-style program including all of our family and friends walking down the aisle, wedding day timeline and those who have passed on that we wish could have been there. We also made sure to include a private last dance while everyone was lining up for the sparkler exit. It was the perfect way to end our wedding!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

HIRE A DAY OF COORDINATOR. I did not do this and I wish I had!! Our wedding was all over the place and if we had a day of coordinator it would’ve gone a lot smoother!
