Rhyanne + Zac
Wedding Date & Location:
July 20, 2024 at Mickelsen Ranch in Moses Lake, WA
For our real bride Rhyanne, wedding planning wasn’t about fulfilling a lifelong dream—it was about creating a day that celebrated the love of her life, her people, and their story. With a vision full of cheerful summer florals, hints of gold, and lots of DIY magic, Rhyanne crafted a day that wasn’t an exact copy of her Pinterest board… it was better. From mimosas and tears with her bridesmaids to an emotional vow exchange that melted everyone, the whole day was personal, vibrant, and full of joy. With the help of beloved family friends and vendors who truly cared, Rhyanne and her husband danced, toasted, and laughed their way through what she calls “easily the best day of our lives.”
What was the vision for your wedding?:
I am not the girl that’s been planning this day since I was a kid, but I am the girl that dreamt of what this day would be like with the man of my dreams. My vision was fun, summer florals with accents to compliment and touches of gold to bring it all together. I didn’t change my mind a ton in the 7 months of planning, but I did choose to get crafty and DIY a bunch of things instead of buying them. Our wedding wasn’t exactly the same as my Pinterest board, but honestly I ended up loving the final result even more! Finding vendors on such a short timeline (7 months) was one of my biggest stressors. But, what I came to realize is that we had so many amazing people around us who specialize in these things — which made us extremely lucky. The two most important vendors in my opinion, the photographer and the venue, are both family friends of ours. Having their contact already and getting things locked into place within the first month of our engagement was a huge win and relief. Our cupcake baker, Joan, is also a family friend who makes the world’s best desserts so I called her right away. The caterers, Maggie’s kitchen, were introduced to me at a work event that they catered. Street tacos are our favorite, so naturally, we made a connection and booked them.
How did it go on the day-of?:
The day-of was a real-life dream. The morning started off drinking mimosas and jamming out with my bridesmaids, mom’s, and some other family while we all got ready in the salon. My bridesmaids also gifted me extremely thoughtful letters to the bride book which had me sobbing and feeling so blessed to have so many amazing people in my life. We later made our way to the venue to get dressed and hide from the boys. My bridesmaids went to the other room and my mom helped me into my dress, after which I did vows and first look with my husband. Ladies, when I tell you that the vows were the best part!!! He absolutely melted me with his sweet words and seeing him for the first time after waiting all day was the cake. After this, we did a first look with all of our bridal party and finished up pictures with them and family. Walking down the aisle was a BLUR. I was so nervous and excited I think I blacked out a bit, and I was basically running down the aisle as my mom (who walked me) kept reminding me to slow down. The ceremony was the perfect length, and standing up there hand in hand is something I’ll never forget. Past this point, we talked, danced, ate, toasted way too many times, and spent quality time with our guests, friends, and most importantly each other. It was easily the best day of our lives.
