Reilly + Matt

Wedding Date & Location:

June 22, 2025, at The Farmhouse on Greenbluff

For our real bride Reilly, wedding planning started with a vision of classic black and white—but after two years of dreaming and pinning, her style evolved into something even more her. What began with white roses and minimalism bloomed into colorful florals, soft blue bridesmaids’ dresses, and a day overflowing with joy, sentiment, and intentional touches. From personal vows and family-led moments to a surprise mother-daughter dance and a week’s worth of wedding cake for two, every detail of Reilly and Matt’s celebration was heartfelt, timeless, and deeply theirs.

What was the vision for your wedding?:

Matt and I had a longer engagement than most; we got married almost exactly two years after we got engaged. So when I began thinking about my wedding soon after our engagement, my vision was a classic black and white wedding with white roses and greenery throughout. This vision began to warp and change as time went on, and to my surprise, my wedding Pinterest board soon became full of colorful florals and bright blue bridesmaids' dresses. I realized I no longer wanted that black and white wedding, I realized that it actually didn’t feel like “me”. The core of my vision never changed, though I was always aiming for a simple and timeless look. I wanted to look back on my wedding photos in 30+ years and not find them outdated, so I opted for an elegant yet understated approach. I wanted the venue's natural beauty to shine through, adding only a few personal touches to reflect my style. Seeing my new, colorful Pinterest board come to life on the wedding day was truly a dream come true.

How did it go on the day-of?:

I knew my wedding day would, of course, be one big, fun, and beautiful party. But I really wanted our guests to walk away from the day truly feeling the love that Matt and I have for each other. We chose to put intentional, special touches throughout the day so our guests felt our love. One of our very best friends married us. We had my grandpa recite a poem during the ceremony called “Blessing of the Hands”. We opted to recite our vows during the ceremony instead of privately, so our guests could bear witness to our love story and the promises we were making to each other. We also both decided to do a thank you speech for our guests, so we were able to properly thank our family and friends in our own way. I come from a family of three girls, and I am the last daughter to get married, so I chose to have both my parents walk me down the aisle and also chose to do a special, surprise mother-daughter dance. We took out some traditional wedding activities such as a bouquet toss; my bouquet was to pretty to give away, so I chose to keep it and preserve it. We opted not to do a big wedding cake and instead did a beautiful dessert table full of colorful macarons and bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes. We still cut a small white cake, just the two of us, and ate it every night thereafter for the next week until we finished it. I truly believe the best weddings are the ones where you feel the love and the joy the couple has for each other, and I think we were able to achieve that with all the little touches we chose to include.

What is your #1 tip to future brides?:

Hire the day of coordinator!!! Just do it!! This was the best money we spent by far. It made our day so much less stressful knowing there was someone there to handle all the “little things” and keep everyone and everything on track. We had the privilege of having a good family friend who had known me since childhood be our coordinator, and she was amazing. The list of small, little details seemed never-ending on the day of the wedding, and she completed every little thing exactly how I wanted her to.
