Kourtney + Drew

Welcome back to the Ivory Bride Blog, where we share stories about our real brides and their gorgeous weddings! In today's post, we are thrilled to share the beautiful and personalized wedding of our real bride, Kourtney! Her vision evolved over time, but once she and Drew began planning, their dream day became clear: a simple yet sophisticated celebration that truly reflected who they are as a couple. From pizza and cupcakes to personalized signage designed by Drew himself, every detail of their wedding was filled with love and meaning. Their day was full of special touches, from heartfelt moments like the first look with Kourtney’s dad to a private dance at the end of the night, making their wedding unforgettable.

By our real bride, Kourtney:

What was the vision for your wedding?

The vision for my wedding has changed many times over my life! When I met Drew and a wedding became a reality, my vision for our day became very clear. We wanted the guests at our wedding to walk away thinking- this is exactly Drew and Kourtney! We tried to keep it simple yet sophisticated and a party that truly embodied who we are as a couple. Our vision- simple, yet sophisticated is what led us to choosing all of our vendors. Pizza, Cupcakes, charcuterie, great drinks, and a dance party with our friends! It turned out exactly how I envisioned it! One of my favorite aspects of our wedding was that all of our invitations and signage were designed by Drew. It made that aspect of our wedding so special to me because there was so much love poured into our design. We will look back on it forever and remember how creative and special it was for Drew to design elements of our wedding!

How did it go the day-of?

I wish that I could re-live the day of our wedding over and over again. It was so relaxed and filled with so much love! Getting ready for the day with my best friends was one of the most special moments I have experienced. When you bring women from all different seasons of your life into one room and they get along so beautifully, it helped ease any of the nerves that I had! Doing the first look with my dad was such a special start to our photos-it was so much fun to share such a once-in-a-lifetime moment with my dad! I had a lot of nerves leading up to doing my first look with Drew! It was so exciting but there was so much anticipation in seeing him for the first time in my dress that made me a little anxious. However, as soon as I saw him, all of those nerves went away and I felt like I was ready to take on the rest of the day with my best friend! It also helped that our bridal party and family shared a quick shot with us from our favorite bar (Jack and Dans) before walking down the aisle. Our ceremony was extremely special to us! We had a very good family friend officiate the ceremony and two very dear friends did readings. Until I was going through the wedding process myself, I had no idea that the wedding ceremony script would be written by Drew and me. It was a little intimidating at first, but it allowed us to get creative and write a ceremony that embodied our love for each other! The reception was so much fun! Finally, we were able to mingle with our friends and family and enjoy the evening carefree! We ate pizza, drank a few glasses of wine, and had the most epic dance party with our friends! Drew and I shared one last private dance before the end of our reception and it was a very special way to end our day. A final moment to reflect and feel so appreciative for all of the love that we felt that day! We asked Vintage Print to create a custom print for our wedding and it was so special! We love hanging vintage prints around home and now we have a beautifully designed print specifically for us that can hang in our home forever!
