For our real bride, Kelly, wedding day looked a little different than the traditional big celebration—and it couldn’t have been more magical. On January 18, 2025, she and her husband said “I do” in Scala, Italy, at the breathtaking Basilica di Sant’ Eustachio, surrounded by the quiet beauty and romance of the Italian countryside.
From the very beginning, their vision was simple yet unforgettable: an intimate, romantic elopement immersed in nature’s beauty. What started as her husband’s adventurous idea quickly became the perfect once-in-a-lifetime experience. Instead of planning a large event, they chose to focus on creating a day that felt peaceful, meaningful, and completely centered around the two of them. With the help of a wonderful officiant—who became their guide in bringing the day together—they were able to plan a celebration that felt effortless from start to finish.
The wedding day itself was everything they had hoped for and more. Rather than spending the morning apart, they chose to experience the day side by side, soaking in every moment together. Just the two of them, in one of the most romantic places imaginable. They still incorporated a first look, creating that unforgettable moment of surprise before the ceremony, followed by a beautiful and intimate ceremony that reflected the simplicity and heart behind their elopement.
One of the most memorable details of the day came after they were officially married, when their officiant showered them with traditional Italian confetti as a blessing over their marriage—a thoughtful and meaningful touch that made the experience feel even more special. They also shared a first dance after the ceremony, creating another unforgettable memory in the middle of their once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Looking back, she describes the day as effortless, relaxing, and deeply romantic—the kind of celebration that reminds you that a wedding doesn’t need to be large to feel extraordinary. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen in the quiet, in the simplicity, and in the freedom to create a day that feels exactly right for you.

What was the vision for your wedding?:
The vision was intimate, romantic elopement surrounded by natures beauty. Italy was my husband’s adventurous idea! We started by finding the perfect officiant and she guided us from there.
How did it go on the day-of?:
We spent the whole day together, just the two of us. We did a first look, which was the perfect surprise element and an unforgettable first dance after the ceremony. The day was effortless and relaxing. Our wonderful officiant showered us with Italian confetti to bless our marriage which was the perfect touch!
What is your #1 tip to future brides?:
Consider elopement! It truly was a once in a lifetime trip.
