By our real bride, Jocelyn:

What was the vision for your wedding?

We always envisioned a huge (western/boho) wedding surrounded by everyone we love, and celebrating the love and life we’ve built! I wanted every bit of it to feel personal, not only for the bridal party but also for our guests. The little details were some of the things we paid closest attention to and I feel like that made our day so special. We chose our vendors completely based on how they matched our style and vision. We served pizza because who doesn’t LOVE a good slice of pizza after a few drinks, but as a bonus it was cost-effective and very ‘us’. We’re also incredibly sentimental so having a photographer and videographer that we loved and could trust was huge because we knew that their work would be what we got to look back on to re-live our special day. We had a photo booth and After-The-Tone voicemail phone, along with homemade limoncello to toast to and a few other family traditions. Every vision I ever had of our wedding came to life + so much more!

How did it go the day-of?

The little details were some of the things we paid closest attention to and I feel like they are what made our day so special. We started our morning with our closest friends, getting ready like royalty, and sipping champagne trying to contain our excitement! I slipped into my dress, we shed a few tears, and the start of many pictures commenced! We chose to do family pictures before so that we would have more time during the reception to spend time with our guests and be present with all the people who made time to be there. Following that we made our way down to the start of our beautiful outdoor ceremony. My grandpa walked me down the aisle to the man of my dreams. We kept it short and sweet— but long enough to soak in the moment. Afterward my husband and I snuck a way for a bit to soak in our new titles, enjoy a slice of pizza, and a glass of champagne.

Then we waltzed right into our venue and it was time to start the party! While our guests were in line, we made our way down making sure to greet, say hi, and thank every one of them for being there! Once they all had a chance to sit down it was time for speeches. The music played, the traditions were continued and we created a night we would never forget! We chose our vendors completely based on how they matched our style and vision. We served pizza because who doesn’t LOVE a good slice of pizza after a few drinks, but as a bonus it was cost-effective and very ‘us’. We had them set out on butcher paper buffet style with a large helping of Caesar salad!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

My best tips would be 1. Other people's opinions are JUST THAT! Don’t let other people influence you to do something that you don’t truly feel in your gut to be a good choice— whether it’s the dress you feel most confident in or something as simple as the decor. It’s only about what makes YOU happy! 2. GET THE DAY OF COORDINATOR. Best money you will spend on your big day. It gives you room to breathe and not stress without putting it on the family that you want to enjoy your special day alongside you! 3. Do your research and get experience with your photographer before the big day. That way they can get to know you, your style, and your vision so you end up getting exactly what you want.
