Jessica + Brice

September 9, 2023 in Irrigon, Oregon

In today's Ivory Bride Blog we talk about our real bride Jessica, and how her wedding was the perfect blend of all the things she loved — a little bit timeless, a little bit rustic, a little bit extra, and entirely her. Though her Pinterest board was filled with every aesthetic imaginable, what came to life was a day full of intentional simplicity, family love, and a whole lot of heart. With a beautiful venue as the backdrop, hand-picked vendors (including a few familiar faces), and personal touches like a neighbor-made dessert and food truck catering, every detail felt meaningful. From tears with her dad to laughter with her girls, Jessica’s day was the kind that makes you wish you could bottle up the feeling forever.

What was the vision for your wedding?

My Pinterest board was truly all over the place, filled with just about every aesthetic you could think of. I wanted timeless, but simple, yet extra. However, our wedding was exactly how I envisioned it. Pinterest helped with the color theme, and overall rustic aesthetic. I sent some pictures to my momma and she ran with it! We went with a less is more because our venue was already so beautiful. We chose vendors based on recommendations, Instagram pages, and some family friends to keep our day extra special.

How did it go the day-of?

The day went off without a hitch, there is not a single thing that I would change about the day. All of my best girls got ready with me at my aunt's salon, The Styling Arena. I cannot recommend this enough because we had everything we needed. We laughed a lot and cried a little, and overall the room was filled with so much love. We had a mix of traditional and non traditional things. Brice and I decided not to do a first look. Though it is very convenient to get pictures out of the way prior to the wedding, there is something special about seeing your husband at the end of the aisle first. I did a first look with my dad, and it was one of my favorite parts of the day. We asked a close family friend to officiate our wedding, and he made the ceremony extra special! We had two food trucks come and serve, and they were fantastic! I also recommend this, as there was no clean up and was far cheaper than a traditional caterer. Our cupcakes were made by a neighbor, and they were to die for! Everything about our day was perfect, and above everything else, love was radiated.

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

My #1 tip for future brides would be to pick your VERY best people. Pick your people who truly love you and want to be there for you. Pick the people that make you feel beautiful. Pick the people that will keep the mimosas flowing and laugh with you. Pick the people that will show up for you every single time. Pick those that love your husband to be. They will make your day special. They will surround you with love, and nothing else in the day will matter.
