In this blog post, the author shares their vision for their wedding - a beautiful combination of boho and rustic elements. They found the perfect venue and filled it with an abundance of flowers. Their goal was to create a fun, memorable wedding for all their guests, which included serving pizza for dinner and having a cotton candy cart. On the day-of, everything went smoothly except for a slight hiccup when the best man passed out during the ceremony. Despite this, the day was beautiful and unforgettable. The author's number one tip for future brides is to take time to pause and soak in the special moments because the day moves fast. They also recommend finding a photographer who will make you feel comfortable and will take care of you throughout the day.
By our real bride, Rachel:
What was the vision for your wedding?
I have always loved the idea of a boho rustic wedding. So, I found a way to combine the two visions by finding the most beautiful venue that took care of the rustic vibe that I hoped for and filled it with flowers upon flowers upon flowers. I wanted our day to be remembered as the most fun wedding people had ever been to, so we had pizza for dinner and all the dessert, including a cotton candy cart from Kawaii Kandy!
How did it go the day-of?
The day-of went off without a hitch! Although, we did have our best man pass out during the ceremony (he needed food and water!). We were able to stick to our timeline, our wedding party was supportive and full of excitement, our families took care of us, and our photographer ROCKED. It went by faster than I could have imagined, but every moment was so beautiful and fun that I couldn't have imagined doing anything differently for our day.
What is your #1 tip to future brides?
The day moves FAST. You only have this season and that day once, so take time to pause throughout the day and soak it all in. My favorite moments from the day were when my groom (Sheldon) and I paused to look out at the people who were there to support us and love on us, to eat donuts and dance, and to take time to be alone for a few minutes right after the ceremony. Get yourself a photographer that makes you feel comfortable and will take care of you all throughout the day. Alissa Ferguson is THE BEST!
