Lexy + Benson
(August 28, 2021 in Athol, ID)
This blog post is a personal account of our real bride Lexys wedding day. The bride talks about her wedding vision, which changed to a more country/forest/chic vibe, and how the day went. The bride didn't have a wedding planner or coordinator, but her family members took care of everything, and the day went flawlessly. She shares special moments of her day, including not staying the night with her husband and doing a first look with her dad. Her #1 tip for future brides is to live in the moment and not stress about little things, as someone will take care of it, and the day is all about the bride.
Lexy looked absolutely stunning in our Dahlia gown! Delicately beaded shoestring straps extend from the V-neckline into the wide open back, forming a small keyhole feature at the base. The V-sides complement the plunging neckline and sheer bodice, showered in delicate laces featuring a mix of vine-like and floral patterns. The relaxed A-line silhouette features layers of sequin and beaded tulle which lay closer to the figure, while a wide tulle overlay gradually widens toward the backcomplete with carefully placed lace appliqués for rich dimension, stunning texture and a dramatic bridal finish.

What was the vision for your wedding?
In the early wedding planning stages we were thinking of a much more rustic/country vibe, probably in a barn or something. Once we booked our venue and I found my dream dress everything changed for the better, and it was even more perfect and much more like all of my little girl fairytale dreams. We went with a more country/forrest/chic vibe and it was everything we could have ever imagined and more!
How did it go the day-of?
The day went perfect! We didn't have a wedding planner or coordinator, but we did have a couple family members that are really good with those tasks and they made the day go flawlessly. One thing that made the day extra special was that my husband and I didn't stay the night together before the wedding; I got to stay with our bridesmaids and he with our groomsmen; and the first time we saw each other was when I was walking down the aisle with my dad. This was one of the very most special parts of the day for us. We also got together right before the ceremony (without seeing each other) to pray, this was very special and intimate and helped calm some nerves for both of us. I let my little sister try on my dress while we were getting ready and the pictures of that moment turned out so cute, we will cherish them forever. I also did a first look with my dad which was very special! My aunt did all of our amazing flowers and even grew the big gorgeous dahlias in her own garden for our arrangements! She worked so hard and made it even more special for us.
What is your #1 tip to future brides?
Live in the moment! Don't stress about things getting done, someone will make it happen for you. This is the one day that is all about you! If you want a mimosa at 8am, just ask, someone will get you one. If something doesn't go as planned you probably won't even notice and you will still be just as married at the end of the best day of your life.
