Emmi + Jax

This blog post recounts a bride's vision for her wedding, which was a soft and elegant feel with no harsh colors. She had one specific inspirational photo and based everything on that. The bride fell in love with the Trezzi Farms wedding venue before she was even engaged and reserved it to ensure she could have the date she wanted. On the day of the wedding, the bride woke up feeling excited and at peace, despite experiencing a million things going wrong leading up to the wedding. The ceremony was short and sweet, and after the send-off, a bunch of guests met the couple at Northern Quest to keep the party going. The bride's top tip for future brides is not to get too caught up in all the small stuff and to enjoy wedding planning, even though it can be stressful. She also suggests letting the fiancé plan the honeymoon while the bride plans the wedding to alleviate some of the stress.
Emmi looked BREATHTAKING in our Delilah gown by Martina Liana. This is a stunning crepe fit and flare with gorgeous floral lace appliqués that frame the hips and highlight curves. The unlined bodice accentuates the waistline and buttons going all the way down the train adding the perfect final touch. A stunning low back with dainty beaded straps and an organic train complete this absolutely gorgeous gown.

What was the vision for your wedding?
I wanted a very soft elegant feel with no harsh colors. I had one specific inspo photo and based everything off of that! It turned out exactly how I imagined. We went to look at wedding venues before we were even engaged and fell in love instantly with Trezzi's which was the first venue we looked at! We knew we wanted to get married the next summer, so we reserved it before getting engaged to ensure we could have the date we wanted!
How did it go the day of?
The day of our wedding was magical! I had a million things go wrong leading up to the wedding and have never felt stress like that before, but woke up the day of our wedding with so much peace and excitement! You just realize that everything is going to come together and that there's nothing you can change now, so just to enjoy every minute! Also, it goes by insanely quick, so seriously be present in every moment. Getting ready with your best friends, sister and mom is so special and gets you in the celebrating mood! We had a limo pick us up and bring us to the venue and it was so fun and allowed me to really get excited and pumped up by listening to the best songs about weddings and love! My husband and I did a first look, and it was so special because it allowed us to talk and be together alone for a little before all the craziness! Walking down still felt just as special because I was seeing my husband standing at the arbor for the first time ever and he was seeing seeing me walk down the aisle for the first time. Our ceremony was short and sweet so we could spend plenty of time enjoying the evening with our guests and each other! I just wish my husbands mom could've been there with us. She passed away when Jax was 17, right before I met him. My uncle was our officiant which was so special because he knows us on a deep level and we all get to have that memory for the rest of our lives! Our wedding was pretty traditional, but was so us in every way! After the send off, a bunch of our guests met us at northern quest so we could keep the party going! Everything was so perfect about our day and I wouldn't change a thing!
What is your #1 tip to future brides?
Don't get too caught up in all the small stuff! It's soooo easy to get carried away, then you take a step back and realize you're spending so much money on things that really won't be remembered or could be just as special if you went a little cheaper! Also, try to enjoy wedding planning even though it's so stressful at the time! I just kept thinking to myself, "if planning a wedding is the biggest thing causing stress in my life right now, then I am a very lucky person!" Remember to be gracious and kind to your fiancé while you plan the big day. My husband wanted to be helpful, but it's hard to delegate tasks! I think letting your husband plan the honeymoon while you plan the wedding is such a good idea! My sister is doing that and it gives your fiancé something to do that is super helpful! I didn't have any time to plan our honeymoon, so I just booked it and we figured out what to do once we were there! It still worked out great!
