In this blog post, one bride shares her experience of not knowing what she wanted for her wedding day, but ultimately creating a celebration that was perfect for her and her partner. Despite the heat and a few minor hiccups, the day was filled with personal touches, fun, and love. Her #1 tip for future brides? Remember that something is bound to go wrong, but that's okay - what truly matters is marrying your person and enjoying the day with loved ones.
Our real bride Colbi was a vision in our Kendall gown by Essense of Australia. This dress is an A-line fit with a lace bodice and lace appliques that trickle down throughout the skirt. A sequined underlayer adds the perfect hint of subtle sparkle. This gown has a high illusion neckline with organic floral lace and a gorgeous scoop back.

What was the vision for your wedding?
I had no clue what I wanted other than I wanted to be outside and pretty lowkey! I wanted all the fun and none of the drama. We wanted a wedding we would both enjoy so we tried to show off our personalities and our interests through the wedding and with decor! We researched forever to find our vendors and really spent time to meet with everybody to find people who were easygoing and would fit well in our day!
How did it go the day-of?
Day of! Wow. Total whirlwind! It was like 97 degrees that day and the ceremony was outside in the sun! There were a couple hiccups here and there but overall it was everything we could have hoped for and we had so much fun! We were really able to let loose and just enjoy each other and all of our closest family and friends! We were lucky enough to include touches in our centerpieces and throughout the reception that really made things personal. We used antlers that had been gathered by both sides of our family for years in our centerpieces and our DJ was nice enough to include voice recordings of me talking to my dad when I was 2 in the song we danced to for the father-daughter dance. Our favors were blackberry jam jars homemade from my grandmas garden. Yum. My absolute favorite thing was that even though we wrote our own vows and had no idea what the other would say, we both said just about the same thing. Not the whole I love you part but we definitely both talked about fishing and hunting together in our vows. Haha. Also! We had donuts! Because why not?! We are not huge fans of cake so instead of cupcakes for our guests we got the best donuts for everybody! We feel so lucky to have the most amazing group of people around us that helped us and understood our vision of our day.
What is your #1 tip to future brides?
Something is bound to not be perfect and thats OKAY! At the end of the day all that matters is you getting to marry your person you wont even remember all the little stuff in the end.
