Hannah + Derek
Wedding Date & Location:
June 21st, 2024, at Machias Meadows in Snohomish, Washington
For our real bride Hannah, timeless elegance was the goal, and her wedding day delivered it in every dreamy detail. With a vision centered around simplicity and natural beauty, Hannah and her partner chose classic black and white attire, long-stemmed white roses, and a farmhouse-style venue that felt intimate and romantic. From the family-style dinner setup to the sunset dance in olive crowns with her bridesmaids, Hannah’s day was both clean and ethereal—like a midsummer dream come to life.
What was the vision for your wedding?:
The vision we had for our wedding was a very timeless, clean vibe. Our venue location had so much natural beauty that we didn't want to take away from so we went with simple colors; all white for the ladies and classic black tux for the men. We had long-stemmed white roses to make things romantic while capturing that crisp, clean look. The dining barn was arranged with long wood tables pushed together, beer hall style, to make it feel like one big family dinner. We got very lucky with the weather on our wedding day, and the sunset over the farm really topped it off. It was so dreamy!
How did it go on the day of?:
The day was amazing! Our wedding planner, Jordan Hilbert, really went above and beyond with making our vision come to life and allowing us to embrace the day with friends and family. All the ladies got ready in the old farmhouse on the property, which allowed us to disconnect from the setup and have a proper girls' day! Something I really loved was letting all the bridesmaids pick out their own style of white dress. I wanted them to feel beautiful and comfortable, as well as capture their own personality and style. During the sunset, all the bridesmaids and I put on olive leaf crowns and rejoiced in a circle dance holding hands in our white dresses, which felt like a midsummer dream. We also ended up bringing our shotski, which added a special touch to the drinking festivities. It was an all-around great time!
What is your #1 tip to future brides?:
Take some time alone with your spouse after the ceremony. We scheduled a cocktail hour between the ceremony and dinner, and we were able to step away and have some time alone before getting introduced to dinner. It was a nice little break that I'm glad our wedding planner suggested.
