Haley + Cade
Wedding Date & Location:
June 8, 2024, at Tin Roof Venues in Moses Lake, WA
For our real bride Haley, the wedding vision shifted more than once—but the end result was pure magic. Originally dreaming of a cozy fall celebration, she and her husband ultimately embraced the beauty of a spring-into-summer day, bringing to life a “sunset come to life” with rustic chic charm, bright and airy details, and even a few barnyard friends. Choosing local vendors close to home made the day feel even more personal, while intimate touches—like a wedding party made entirely of family and private vows before the ceremony—kept the focus on what mattered most. Through unexpected challenges, Haley and her husband leaned on each other, proving that love (and a little flexibility) can turn even the most unpredictable day into something unforgettable.
What was the vision for your wedding?:
Originally, we wanted a fall wedding! We ended up choosing a spring/early summer wedding date, and it was beautiful. When asked, the “vision” we had was of a sunset come to life, mixed with a few of our favorite things. It was bright & airy, and had a rustic chic atmosphere (including livestock) which tied it all together. The majority of our vendors were local community members as we wanted to support small businesses and people close to home.
How did it go on the day of?:
The morning of the wedding, we had a family emergency that altered our expectations of what our special day would initially look like. Although it was scary, it was a true testament to the strength and support I received (and continue to receive) from my husband. He was there every step of the way to ensure I still had an amazing day, and help my family and I in any way he could. We agreed to share private vows prior to the ceremony to really be “in the moment” with each other, and if you’re contemplating it, I would 100% recommend. Being able to share a private moment together and be vulnerable with each other was so special. Plus, feeling like an absolute princess and getting to capture that first look with raw reactions from your future hubby? Talk about goosebumps! In addition, to keep things more intimate, our entire wedding party consisted of only family members- sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, and our nephew. We had the honor of our brother and sister in law officiate our wedding, the sister in law being my best friend for over the last decade (yes, the typical best friends marry brothers scenario). The best surprise came during our ceremony, when my niece spread a combination of dried flowers from every bouquet he’d ever bought me, mixed in with fresh petals, signifying the importance of our past blending in with our future and what’s to come. We spent the rest of the evening under the twinkle lights in the barn, dancing and celebrating with our loved ones from near and far. Looking back, our wedding plans changed course more than once, but the end results were everything we didn’t know we even needed and more.
What is your #1 tip to future brides?:
Just as our wedding did, life will throw you curveballs. Plans can change. Schedules may vary, but if you have the right people in your corner, it’s all worth it. Trust me- small details or big details, you just gotta roll with it. At the end of the day, if you get to marry your best friend, the rest is just a bonus! Don’t lose sight of what it’s all about.
