The Vision

Gigi's wedding vision was simple and timeless: an elevated garden party. Her Pinterest board told the whole story — lush greenery, an outdoor venue, string lights, and flowery garlands draped over tables and the dance floor. From the very beginning, she knew she wanted a classic palette of green and white.She found the perfect setting in her own hometown, and the moment she toured the venue, she knew it was the one. Rose bushes lined the drive to the on-site bed and breakfast, the trees were a glorious green, and the grassy lawns set the scene for both ceremony and reception. Seeing it all come together before she walked down the aisle felt like a dream — it looked exactly as she'd imagined.Gigi found some of her vendors through recommendations from her venue, and others by chance at a bridal expo in Wenatchee. Her advice? Don't count out the expos — they can feel a little overwhelming, but they're a great place to explore ideas, meet vendors in person, and even lock in deals on the spot.

The Day-Of

The sun shone through the trees, and there wasn't a breath of wind to disturb a single detail — Gigi couldn't have asked for more. The morning started a little hectic, with last-minute details and directing helpers before her coordinator arrived, but once photos began, all the worry melted away. Months of planning for the smallest moments paid off, and she let every emotion show — tears, smiles, all of it.

A few special touches made the celebration truly hers. Her mother's kimono, originally worn for her own coming-of-age ceremony in Japan, was transformed into a modern dress Gigi can now wear for years to come. A German-inspired Japanese cake, shipped in from Hawaii, was a showstopper at both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding — proof that a non-traditional dessert can be the perfect choice. Her future brother-in-law, who she'd known even longer than her now-husband, officiated the ceremony and shared heartfelt words about the friendships that brought them all together.Guests told Gigi again and again how touched they were by the pure happiness radiating through the ceremony. After a few hard years for so many, being part of a day so full of joy felt like a true gift.

What was the vision for your wedding?:

The vision for my wedding was “elevated garden party.” My Pinterest board consisted of lots of green, outdoor venue spaces, with string lights and flowery garlands draping the tables and dance floor. I knew from the beginning that I wanted classic colors of green and white. Luckily, I found the perfect venue in my home town and my vision came to life. The very day I toured this venue, I immediately knew this is where I’d be getting married. Rose bushes lined the drive to the on-site bed and breakfast, the trees were gloriously green, and the grassy lawns where we had our ceremony and reception were the perfect setting for it all. Seeing everything all set up before walking down the aisle was a dream come true - it looked exactly as I imagined! I chose some of my vendors by personal recommendation from my wedding venue, and some by lucky chance at the bridal expo in Wenatchee. They may seem cheesy and overwhelming, but the shows and expos can really be a great place to explore your ideas, meet real potential vendors, and score great deals like I did by hiring people on the spot!

How did it go on the day-of?:

On the day of our wedding, the sun was shining through the drapery of trees and there wasn’t a whisper of wind to blow anything over - I couldn’t have been happier! The morning started out a little hectic, organizing a few last minute things and directing my helpers around before my wedding coordinator arrived, but once we got pictures going, all my responsibilities and worries were forgotten. The months of planning for the little moments were SO worth it, and I was able to wear my true emotions on my sleeve and let the tears and smiles fly! A few unique things I did for my rehearsal dinner, I had my mother’s kimono that she wore for her coming of age ceremony in Japan turned into a modern style dress that I will now be able to wear forever. I also had my favorite type of German-inspired Japanese cake shipped in from Hawaii and it was a huge hit at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Non-traditional desserts is definitely the way to go in my opinion! I also had my future brother in law be the officiant for my wedding and it was the sweetest thing. I have known him longer than my husband even and he had many wonderful things to say about me, my husband, and the friendships we’ve all made together. I had so many people tell me how sweet our ceremony was and how touched they were to see such pure happiness come through. It’s been a tough few years for everyone I think, and to be part of such a joyous occasion is truly a blessing.
