Evelina + Timothy
Wedding Date & Location:
July 27, 2024, in Firebrand Cocolalla
For our real bride, Evelina, the dream was to step into an enchanted forest straight out of the movies—specifically, the romantic woodland wedding scene from Twilight. Surrounded by lush greenery and a calm, intimate atmosphere, she curated every detail herself, sourcing décor to perfectly match her vision. Her Slavic heritage also played an important role, with a venue that allowed her to serve traditional Russian cuisine to honor her roots. The result was a celebration that blended cinematic romance with personal meaning, creating a day that was as serene as it was unforgettable.
What was the vision for your wedding?:
The vision for my wedding was more of a forest vibe. Like the scene from Twilight where Bella and Edward get married in the forest, I just loved that calm and greenery everywhere. After searching Pinterest for a couple of days, I found and sourced all the decorations I wanted and how I wanted them to look. I come from a Slavic background, so having a venue where I am able to bring in a caterer that serves Russian food was a big thing for me.
How did it go on the day of?:
The day went pretty smoothly. I would say I am a pretty type-A bride, so I had a schedule down to the minute, but if we strayed from it, I wasn’t too concerned. The only thing I would change would be if you are starting your wedding at 3 pm, plan on actually starting at 3:30 because guests show up late! Otherwise than that, I felt very calm and in the headspace of if sometimes happens, not to stress out about it because your wedding is only one day and to enjoy it the most! My husband and I did communion at our wedding together, and that was a special touch to me becoming one person in front of Christ, so that was a big deal for us, and I love that we included that.
What is your #1 tip to future brides?:
To just be calm on your wedding day. You can’t control everything, and the less you care about certain things that are out of your control, the better. Also, never leave your husband's side; we made an agreement that wherever he goes, I go and vice versa. People like to pull either of you away, and just doing everything together makes it that much more special, not leaving each other's side.
