Welcome back to the Ivory Bride Blog, where we share stories about our real brides and their gorgeous weddings! In today's post, our real bride shares all about her day! When romantic elegance meets timeless charm, magic happens—and that’s exactly how this wedding day unfolded. Starting with a minimalist vision, everything shifted when the couple chose the iconic Historic Davenport as their venue. From there, the dream transformed into an intimate celebration filled with fall-hued flowers, glowing candlelight, and cozy, sophisticated touches. Every detail, from stunning floral arrangements to personalized table settings, came together beautifully. This intimate, love-filled day was the perfect blend of romance and elegance, leaving memories to cherish forever.

By our real bride, Caroline:

What was the vision for your wedding?:

My vision for our wedding started very minimalist and industrial, but that changed when we decided on The Historic Davenport as our venue. From that point on, I wanted everything to be very romantic, elegant, and timeless. I wanted lots of flowers in fall hues and soft lighting with tons of candlelight. We kept our wedding very small, so I wanted it to feel very intimate and cozy. Our florist especially was so amazing at making this vision come to life—they made the most beautiful arrangements and added little details that I hadn’t thought of but LOVED. Our reception tables looked stunning with the floral arrangements and mix of tapered candles and votives, the table numbers and menus…I loved it all so much.

How did it go the day-of?:

Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives. It was such a special day when all the people we love were in the same room and the memories that we have from that day are so incredible. It felt like such a blur. We made sure to do a room reveal before guests started going into the reception space and I’m so happy we did. It was a quiet moment where we truly got to appreciate everything coming together and looking stunning. It felt so real at that moment!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?:

Other than hiring a planner for your sanity, my #1 tip would probably be to do whatever you need to ahead of time to make sure you will enjoy your day as much as possible! I decided to get a reception dress at the very last second (literally two days before our wedding day!) And I’m so glad I did. I loved my gown SO much but being a satin ballgown with a lot of boning, it was heavy and not the most comfortable thing. Being able to change into a reception dress let me enjoy dancing and eating and drinking for the rest of the evening with no regrets!
