Welcome back to the Ivory Bride Blog, where we share stories about our real brides and their gorgeous weddings! In today's post, this couple's wedding vision was all about elegance, uniqueness, and staying far from the rustic vibe. Our real bride and her husband created a timeless aesthetic with a sophisticated black and cream color palette, complemented by candlesticks, white roses, and delicate clouds of baby’s breath. With an early start and careful vendor selection, everything came together beautifully—even when the unexpected added a few extra laughs to the day! For future brides, our real bride Angela’s advice is heartfelt: accept that little things may go differently than planned, but as long as you’re with your best friend, the day will be perfect in its own unique way.

By our real bride, Angela:

What was the vision for your wedding?

We envisioned our wedding to be unique and elegant. The one thing we did not want was the rustic vibe. We wanted our wedding to be special. While browsing Pinterest we fell in love with the black & cream/tan color scheme with candlesticks, white roses, and lots of baby’s breath! I found my VERY elegant dress at Honest in Ivory, it was truly one of a kind and fit our vibe perfectly! The venue turned out perfectly! …We started choosing vendors early so we were guaranteed to have who we wanted. We found that some things were already booked over a year in advance, but with more searching, we found different options that we loved even more! It is never too early to start looking for vendors and making phone calls.

How did it go the day-of?

We started the day very early by getting ready, barely eating anything or drinking water because when people showed up, it just got busy. Time flew by from that point on! My husband and I decided to share letters before walking down the aisle. We each read our letter to the other while shedding a few tears and letting out a lot of emotions! That made walking down the aisle way less emotional. (Use this information as you wish.) We took lots of pictures, to the point where it hurt to smile, but it was SO worth it! If your budget allows ABSOLUTELY get a videographer! Check out our wedding video on YouTube, just type in “Perry Highlight Film”. Our videographer captured so many precious moments! We made lots of crazy memories that make for good stories! The morning after my husband and I woke up to a video of our friends smashing their faces into our cake with the caption, “This cake is good!” We had so many people by our side to help all day long to help with all the random things that come up that you won’t ever think of! We are very blessed to have wonderful people in our lives! Such a perfect day to look back on and an exciting future to come!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

I read sooo many different bride views about their wedding day and tried to soak in all of the tips. Let me just tell you, there is no way you will remember it all! Things will NOT go as planned, but it will be okay, all that matters is that you are marrying your best friend. I am not saying things will be terrible, just small details here and there may not be exactly how you imagined. One bride said to make sure you and your spouse stay together during the night, it is very easy to get pulled in separate ways. That is not how I wanted our wedding to go so we tried to stay together, but like I said, it is VERY easy to get pulled apart, and we did. I bet I spent only half the night with my husband. I wished we would have had dinner together in a quiet room alone with no distractions. We had people coming and interrupting us during dinner then we had to take off for sunset pictures and let me tell you, I only got one bite of my dinner, and that is not an exaggeration. The night will still be amazing and perfect, but just make sure that you and your spouse have a conversation about what is important to each of you for the day, and make a plan for how you can make that happen!
