Amanda + Jeff

Wedding Date & Location:

September 7th, 2024 at The Farmhouse on Green Bluff

For our real bride, Amanda, creating the perfect day wasn’t about sticking to a single style—it was about blending elegant, boho, and relaxed vibes into a celebration that felt fun and effortless. With a mix of budget-friendly yet talented vendors (some recommended by The Farmhouse), every detail came together beautifully. A meticulous organizer at heart, she came prepared with timelines, vendor lists, and even picture diagrams, ensuring the day flowed smoothly and stress-free. Skipping traditional moments like the bouquet and garter toss meant more time to celebrate with loved ones—and when their original pastor canceled, her husband’s childhood coach stepped in to officiate, making the ceremony unexpectedly meaningful and personal.

What was the vision for your wedding?:

I didn't have a real vision.. kind of a mix of elegant/boho/relaxed/fun. We're both very go with the flow people and just wanted the day to be fun for us and all of our friends and family. It all turned out great! I did a lot of research on vendors. I ended up choosing a few from the vendor list the Farmhouse provides which was really helpful! We also paid for the majority of the wedding ourselves so I looked for vendors who were affordable but also did great work. And we loved them all!

How did it go on the day-of?:

It all went great! I'm the most crazy overly organized person ever.. So I had a list of vendors, timelines, picture diagrams, you name it.. The Farmhouse allowed us to come in the day before the wedding to rehearse and decorate and we were able to get a huge amount of the decorating done! It helped everyone to be able to relax and not be stressed the morning of. We skipped a lot of the traditional things like the bouquet/garter toss and cake cutting. It helped us to have more time to enjoy our reception because it really does go by so fast! One crazy thing that happened to us was that our pastor bailed on us about two months before the wedding. Sounds like a lot of time but we reached out to multiple other pastors who were already booked for our day. We ended up asking my husband's childhood basketball coach/mentor and it ended up being so meaningful and he did such a great job!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?:

Get organized. Doesn't matter how much time you have to prepare. I've helped out with a lot of family weddings where everyone was scrambling the morning of to get things done. It isn't worth the stress! You don't have to hire a coordinator or have a lot of money to make your big day perfect.
