August 18-19, 2023 in Chelan, WA

Welcome back to the Ivory Bride Blog, where we share stories from our real brides about their real weddings! In today's post, get ready to be inspired by this couple's vision for their wedding, which involved a destination wedding weekend. They had a small ceremony with 60 family members overlooking Lake Chelan, followed by a 200-person reception at Harmony Meadows in Manson, WA, the next day. The day-of experience was described as amazing, with a perfect, short, and sweet ceremony. The couple enjoyed a pizza food truck after the ceremony and spent the night with their loved ones. The following day included a lake day on their parents' boats and preparations for the lively reception. Our bride's top tip for future brides is to know what they want and not feel obligated to adhere to all traditions or include elements they don't truly desire. The couple curated their weekend to include only the things they wanted, foregoing certain traditions like the videographer, bouquet, garter toss, and a large cake. They invested in elements that made the day enjoyable, such as a band, photo booth, bar, and food. The advice is to prioritize spending on aspects that contribute to the overall fun and atmosphere of the wedding.

By our real bride, Alexis:

What was the vision for your wedding?

We wanted a destination wedding weekend. We had a small ceremony overlooking Lake Chelan with 60 of our family members, then a 200-person reception the following day at Harmony Meadows in Manson WA.

How did it go the day-of?

It went AMAZING! Our ceremony went perfectly. Short and sweet! We enjoyed a pizza food truck after our ceremony and spent the night hanging out with all our people. The next day we had a lake day on our parents' boats then got ready for our rockin' reception!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

Know what you want. Don’t subscribe to all the traditions or all the extra stuff you don’t really want. We curated our weekend to only include the things we wanted to do. We ditched the videographer, bouquet, and garter toss, and a large cake. We spent most of our money on the things that made the day fun: the band, photo booth, bar, and food.
